Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics was established in the academic year 2023–24. At present, the department offers the B.Sc. Mathematics degree programme under the UG programme affiliated with RTM Nagpur University.

Now, the Department of Mathematics has been enhanced with the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) and is offering a 4-year B.Sc. Mathematics programme for students. As per the New Education Policy, Mathematics is introduced as a major subject for students. The curriculum focuses on developing mathematical knowledge, logical thinking, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

The B.Sc. Mathematics programme includes various important areas of mathematics such as Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Differential Equations, Statistics and Mathematical Analysis.

The programme under NEP 2020 also promotes skill development, practical applications and interdisciplinary learning to prepare students for higher education and various career opportunities.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE & ASSESSMENT (NEP 2020)

• Duration: 4 Academic Years / 8 Semesters.
• Curriculum: Core, elective, skill enhancement & value-added courses.
• Teaching: Student-oriented with ICT tools, PPTs, virtual labs, projects, seminars & visits.
• Assessment: Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) & Semester End Exam (SEE). 50 marks per paper (40% internal, 40% minimum passing).
